  • LAVERSTOCK & FORD FC

Laverstock & Ford Football Club is situated in Church Road, Laverstock opposite four local schools catering for children from the ages of 4 to 16. Many children from these schools play for the various youth teams that we currently run.
Laverstock itself is part of the city of Salisbury and the Club provides football facilities for a wide geographical area encompassing the whole of the city as well as the outlying villages.  The population of the City itself is 70,000 with that figure rising to 120,000 when taking into considering the outlying villages.
Unfortunately present facilities limit our scope for further development and it is for this reason, as well as our desire to improve facilities for our existing teams, that we are keen to obtain assistance from the FA and take the Club forward into the 21st century.
The growth of the Club in recent seasons has been marked, driven principally by two factors - a dynamic and dedicated Committee and management team and demand from the public to provide teams for all ages and levels of ability. The enthusiasm of “the team” is evidenced by the Club obtaining its Chartermark Award and the fact that we have growing numbers of individuals who have/are and will be attending the Junior Team Managers/Level 1 coaching scheme run by the Wiltshire FA in conjunction with Salisbury District Council.
It is our aim over the coming years to provide football facilities for all, from the ever keen Under 7’s through the youth and onto adults. Few, if any, local Clubs can offer such a service to the community but within the Club we are fortunate already to encompass a number of generations of the same family within the football Club, father and sons frequently play together with grandfathers assisting coaching or simply, but no less importantly, giving encouragement from the touchline or undertaking administrative tasks. We feel this generation mix to be vitally important particularly given today’s society of fragmented families and everyone, however old or young, has something to offer from experience to ambition and enthusiasm.
We have found over the years that lifelong friendships have been created not only between the players themselves but also parents of players and this social interaction can be extended by the attendance at the many social occasions which the Club offers.
We are very fortunate in this regard for Laverstock & Ford Football Club is a small but significant section of Laverstock & Ford Sports Club who are themselves one of our sponsors, and the facilities donated by the main Club for social events are second to none.
In addition to the Sports Club we are fortunate to have the support of a number of local businesses who are generous enough to put money into the football on a regular and ongoing basis. In addition these donations have enabled us in recent years to create a common identity through the majority of our teams, with the now familiar green and white hoops gracing our pitches.

After several seasons in the Wiltshire & Hampshire League we are now an established Sydenhams Wessex Premier Team.

    We run teams in the:
        Sydenhams (Wessex) Division One
        Wyvern Combination West
        South Wilts Badger League
